The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach has offered all conference participants a discounted room rate of $129 per night for a traditional room.  The resort fee is waived for our group.  Oceanfront upgrades are available at an additional cost.  Please request such when making your reservation. Parking is $15 per day.

Advanced Class: Introduction to the Florida Building Code for Home Inspectors

This four hour course will be taught by Glenn Stephens.

This course will describe  the history and foundation of the Unified Florida Building Code (FBC) and how it relates to inspecting homes in Florida.

This course begins Friday, September 13 at 8 a.m. and is NOT included as part of the 14 hour package.


Wind Mitigation Inspections

This course teaches participants the history of wind mitigation in Florida, inspection techniques on how to perform a wind mitigation inspection for insurance credits, how to understand and fill out the latest OIR-B1-1802 Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form, and about the different requirements between Florida & HVHZ (Miami-Dade & Broward).

Wind Mitigation Training, taught by Albert Cooke and John Shishilla, begins at 8 a.m. on Friday and is approved for both HI and CILB credits as initial certification or continuing education.

Four Points/Roof Certifications

This course teaches participants inspection techniques on how to perform four point and roof certification inspections.  It teaches participants to understand and fill out the latest four point and roof certification forms. This course is designed for licensed home inspectors to understand the purpose of, and the steps required to do a four point and roof certification inspection for insurance purposes.

Four Points/Roof Certifications will start at 1 p.m. on September 13.  This course, taught by Albert Cooke and John Shishilla is approved for four HI credits.

These classes are part of the total 14 hour package.


Introduction to Home Inspection – Inspecting and Reporting

This class will teach participants a step by step process from A-Z. Learn how to set the appointment, perform the home inspection, and complete the report.

This three hour non-credited class is free to those who register to attend other conference courses/days and $50 for those just attending this class.


Certified Residential Thermographer Class

Hosted by Monroe Infrared

This class will be Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13 at House of Horrors.

This highly-rated two-day class by Monroe Infrared will teach you what you need to know to successfully add infrared inspections to your home inspections. If you already use infrared in your home inspections, the CRT certification will help in marketing your services and differentiate yourself from non-certified inspectors. The cost is $495; 16 ASHI, FABI and InterNACHI CEs and 14 CE’s State of FL. Saturday will feature a full day of presentations by Michael Casey with Michael Casey & Associates. Then Sunday we begin with a membership meeting followed by a presentation on Code Inspections Versus Home Inspections. Saturday sessions will provide six (6) HI credits and Sunday sessions will provide two (2) credits.


Those attending the main portion of the conference – Saturday and Sunday – may register below.
