Four Points/Roof Certifications and Wind Mitigation Training

John Shishilla: A dedicated, hands-on professional and co-owner of multi-inspector firm Honor Construction Inspection Services in Melbourne, Florida, John has been working persistently in the inspection industry going on two decades. He is a Certified Master Inspector®, a Florida-licensed home inspector (#21), a licensed mold assessor (#MRSA1544), and an active licensed certified residential contractor (#CRC1330745). His first-hand knowledge of the inspection industry is incomparable – as is the information he regularly shares with inspectors and business owners at the national events where he speaks.

Glenn Stephens, President of G. Stephens & Associates, Inc. is a native Floridian, born and raised in Florida’s west coast. Glenn learned about construction from his father, who was a contractor in Manatee County. After serving in the US Air Force, Glenn got his degree in Civil Engineering Drafting & Design. Using this knowledge, Glenn worked for Sarasota County and the City of Sarasota where he began teaching and mentoring others in surveying and mapping. In 2003, Glenn designed and built his own home in Sarasota, Florida. It was at this time that he discovered his passion for home construction.

Jeff Clair is a Florida State Licensed General Contractor, Roofing Contractor, Underground Utility & Excavation Contractor, Mechanical Contractor, Residential Pool & Spa Contractor, Standard Building Code Inspector and Florida Certified Home Inspector. A native Floridian, Mr. Clair has over 30 years of experience in the Florida construction industry. Mr. Clair owns and operates Topline Construction Services, Inc. dba Chief Inspection Services in St. Cloud, FL. The primary services include Residential & Light Commercial Inspections & Consultation, Pre-Purchase Home Inspections; HVAC Consultation Services, Repair and Replacements; Energy Conservation Upgrades; Commercial Project Management; Site Grading, Excavation & Water Management.
  
Introduction to Home Inspection

Manny Gonzalez has been inspecting homes for 20 years and teaching home inspection classes for 12. He is owner of General Home Inspections & Training and is the current FABI President.

Electrical Presentation

Brian House is a high-energy entrepreneur with a passion for doing business the right way. He’s a licensed unlimited electrical contractor having worked throughout the southeast United States since the 1990s. From single family homes to industrial manufacturing he’s enjoyed experiencing all aspects of the trade. Whether it was service work, designing energy-efficient lighting retrofits, biomass powered generators or installing solar PV systems, Brian has first-hand experience with the ups and downs of electrical contracting and a vision for its future. Since 2000, Brian has enjoyed teaching at seminars and apprenticeship classes. He joined the Mike Holt video teams in 2010 and in 2014 joined the Mike Holt staff as the technical director. He continues to teach seminars and is actively involved in developing and teaching apprenticeship classes.

Randy Nicklas, PE is a mechanical engineer who concentrates on advanced building technologies through applied building science and sustainable construction technology.   He is a Senior Engineer with Icynene-LaPolla. He is directly involved with the ICC code hearing process and is an ICC-LU and AIA-CES trainer and presenter. Randy is a founding member of the U.S. Green Building Council and has been working extensively in energy efficient building technologies since the late 70’s. He has been involved with more than 10,000 systems engineered buildings; and he has worked hands-on in all phases of construction from foundations to roofing, including designing, building, performance evaluation and testing. As one of the first energy raters in the U.S., Randy has performed more than 1000 blower door tests and home energy ratings. He was involved with the design and construction of the initial American Lung Association Health House and the first US DOE Zero Energy Building in the Pacific Northwest.  He has traveled throughout North America for 30+ years delivering seminars on building science and high-performance technologies to thousands of architects, engineers, contractors and code officials.
